The Nature Reserve path
A simple itinerary inside the Pian di Gembro Nature Reserve, where you can admire breathtaking winter panoramas of Valtellina and the Adamello range. The path starts close to Ristoro Pian di Gembro and takes you past a wooden bridge, before gently ascending into a fir, pine and larch wood.
"Valcheola" spot is just past the ridge of the mountain that divides Aprica from the natural reserve, where the path continues on the right (if you continue left you'll reach the Pian di Gembro path to "Piscé") and gently descends towards the S. Fortunato chapel.
Here the unique panorama gives visitors the chance to observe the entire mid-upper Valtellina, nestled between the Rhaetian Alps and the Orobien Alps; on the clearest of days it is even possible to catch a glimpse of the Monte Rosa range.
The return itinerary runs adjacent to the peat bog, back to the point of departure, passing by the “Aula Didattica”
