As you ski, or perhaps more frequently as you ascend on the lifts, you may come across tracks left in the fresh snow by birds, hares, foxes, and squirrels.
What is more, along the ski slopes of Aprica special encounters are far from rare! Along the "B" and especially the "C" slopes of Palabione, which lead towards the town, you'll easily see steinbocks and chamois that live inside the Alpine Nature Wildlife Sanctuary of Aprica.
These magnificent animals live in semi-freedom in an area of around 20 hectares, and skiers can admire them as they eat or rest close to the fence, intrigued by the skiers, or close to the slope edge, as though waiting to have their photo taken...
