B.36 Galleno Trail

A mountain/ enduro itinerary of medium difficulty, with a long path that runs along the ancient mule track that once connected Pian di Gembro to Galleno. The ascent is on paved road, with gradients of around 8-10%. Upon reaching Pian di Gembro, the itinerary continues right, along a short, steep stretch. A series of ups and downs lead to the junction: bear right to reach the start of the path. The first part is flat with a grass surface: after this initial, very easy stretch the level of difficulty increases as you descend. You'll be faced with bends that are at times tight, rocky stretches, cobbles with steps (this itinerary is not recommended after a rainfall).

The last stretch descends along a concrete road, before returning to the mule track and the last part of path in Galleno. Return to Aprica along the old via Valeriana, which is part dirt and part concrete, with slightly higher gradients than the initial ascent. The highly panoramic and suggestive stretch of the path close to the Valle del Sant is especially worthy of mention.
