B.32 Caio Trail
The paved road ascends with gradients of around 8-10%. Upon reaching Pian di Gembro, the itinerary continues along the dirt path that runs adjacent to the peat bog. Here breath-taking panoramic views will accompany you until you return to the paved road.
The uphill climb resumes until Piscé, where you continue along a dirt road with increasingly steep stretches, but you have almost reached Monte Belvedere (start of the path).
Start the descent: the first part is along a highly compact surface, with very low gradients: sometimes you'll even need to pedal to maintain your speed. After the simpler first few metres, the level of difficulty increases exponentially. You'll tackle hairpin bends, passages over rocks and extremely steep stretches, until mid-way along the descent, where you can stop for a short break at a highly panoramic point, with spectacular views of the Orobien Alps and Aprica.
Resume the descent; after a short and highly technical stretch you'll come to the final part of the path. Here conditions change drastically: you'll return to Aprica along a much wider and compact surface.
Please note! The final part is popular with hikers, so be sure to slow down.
